Covid 19 – Studio Updates

Hello Beloved Yoga Community!

We are still mandated to be closed as the state of Washington has transitioned to the Healthy Washington – Roadmap to Recovery to plan. We are hopeful that we may be able to return to limited in-person classes later this spring, but of course we will be following the state guidelines and local situation closely to assess.

If you’ve gotten away from your practice, or just haven’t gotten into the groove of home practice, we urge you to come back to your mat! We need the powerful tools of yoga in our community now more than ever.

Here is a message from owner Amy Robinson with some thoughts on the New Year, and we hope to see you online with us for a class soon!

As of 11/15/20, indoor fitness including yoga classes has been suspended for at least 4 weeks. We will continue to keep up to date with the latest restrictions, and make decisions about re-opening with the health and safety of our community as our first concern. Thank you for continuing to join us online!

A video update from owner Amy Robinson

Hello, beloved community!

When we closed our doors in mid-March, we were certainly hopeful that we would all be back sooner rather than later to be able to practice together in person. Alas, as it stands, we are still unsure of when that might be. Yoga Studios fall under Phase 3 of Washington State’s Safe Start Plan, and Whatcom County remains under Phase 2.

Rest assured, when we get the go-ahead that we may open, we have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that coming back to class in-studio will be as safe as we can make it for our students and staff. With smaller class sizes with at least 6 feet of space between students, contactless procedures throughout the entire experience, installation of an enhanced air filtration system, and lots more covid-19 safety protocols in place (we’ll share the full list when we re-open)– we are ready to welcome you back when the time is right (and for those who would prefer to continue practicing at home, we are also committed to continuing to offer livestream options!)

BUT – in the meantime, we are truly grateful to still be able to serve our community online. If you haven’t already, join us for daily classes via Zoom. We particularly love it when you are able to join us live for class so we can check in, say hello, and connect with each one of you. It’s the part of teaching in person we miss the most! We are also so happy that so many of you have been able to continue your yoga practice because of the flexibility of practicing with the recordings — either way, thank you for joining us and continuing to support us during this time.

3/29/20 Updates to our online offerings

Hello Dear Community,

We have been SO humbled by the response to the Facebook Group we created to keep yoga available to you. We’ve had hundreds of you gathering there to practice with us, say hello, and find a little peace and support for your day. It has truly been an honor to be in service to our community during this time of uncertainty and change, and to offer the first two weeks of our online offerings free to anyone, anywhere who needed them.
However, at the end of the day we are a business and need to support our teachers and keep the bills paid, so it’s time to move into phase two of our online classes. THANK YOU to everyone who has kept their membership rolling during this crucial time! Your support has always meant the world to us – but now, more than ever.
Our live full-length classes will be moving to Zoom and will be accessed by signing up for classes via MindBody. We will offer a regular class schedule starting Tuesday, March 31st, and hope to expand over the weeks as we adapt to this new model. Our teachers will be teaching from home so that they can be as safe and comfortable as possible.
You can use your regular membership, any packages you have on your account, or purchase a single drop-in class for $15 for any of these classes. We have also expanded our scholarship availability; please contact us for more information if you are interested.
How does it work?
To join us for a class, you’ll sign up for the class you wish to take on the same day as the class, at least 15 minutes before it starts. MindBody and Zoom have a special relationship that makes it tricky if you sign up too far in advance– and Mindbody will not allow you to sign up after a class begins. Within a few minutes of registering, you should receive an automatic email confirmation that will contain the link for your class.
**Make sure you are opted-in to receive all email communications in your MindBody account, and that the email on there is where you want to receive your link. When you are logged in to MBO, check under the “My Info” tab
**If you don’t see your link soon after you register, please check your promotions, updates, or junk boxes.**
Recorded Classes
Sign up for a class but miss it? Get interrupted half way through? Want to take a class but the time doesn’t work for you? We’ll send you a link to the recorded version which will be available for you to stream for another 24 hours after your class happened!
You still need to be pre-registered for the class before it starts to receive a recording; all participants will be sent a link to the class afterwards if you’d like to view it later.
NOTE: Only the instructor’s video feed will be recorded, so no need to worry about privacy concerns for those in the class.
We also want to acknowledge that this is totally new for all of us! We expect some bumps along the way, and appreciate your understanding while we transition.  If you’re new to signing into your Mindbody account or using Zoom – please click here for step-by-step instructions on how to join us.
We also want to continue to support our sweet online community on Facebook! We will continue to be present there, with our teachers offering a few shorter practices each week and tools to nourish you during this time. These will continue to be offered for free as an extension of our Karma Program offerings, with an option to donate via Paypal
Whether you are a regular member joining us for Zoom classes and adding these shorter offerings to supplement, or if supporting the studio financially is totally out of the picture for you right now — we hope this group continues to be a source of connection and support for our entire greater 3 OMS Community.
3/18/20 We’re moving online!
Like all of you, we’ve had quite the week re-arranging our personal lives but also our business in what felt like the blink of an eye. But here we are — one day at a time, navigating the rollercoaster of emotions and challenges, but at the end of the day, breathing through it all.
We’ve never been called more fully to embrace our yoga practice than this time. Even by staying home and the sacrifices that brings upon us, we are practicing ahimsa in the name of keeping our community as safe as we can.
We need each other now more than ever, and are grateful to draw upon our 11 years of building community with you all together in person, and live in a time when we can continue these relationships in the online world. Here’s how we’d love to continue to support you all and continue to offer the teachings from our amazing staff:
Our connections in the studio are what make 3 OMS such a special place, and the part we are saddest to be missing at this crucial time.

We know it isn’t quite the same, but we’ve started a FB group where we can support each other, connect, and share – maybe put some names to the faces you’ve practiced next to over the years! Let’s lean on each other, share tools from yoga that are providing comfort and relief right now, and lean in to the support that being in community provides. Our teachers will also be there – come on over, say hello and help us grow our virtual studio community!

Our teachers will be offering FREE livestreamed classes so you can continue to practice at home. Join us in our  FB online community starting 3/19 to see the current offerings.
If you can’t join at those times and would like to view them later, they will remain posted in the group. Just scroll down the feed in the group to find them.
We are working on a more formal schedule of paid classes to support the studio and our teachers. Details for that will be sent out next week, so stay tuned as we work that out and catch our breaths for a minute. 🙂  In the meantime, join us over on Facebook to get some much-needed yoga – we can’t wait to see you over there and continue the meaningful connections we have with all of you.
The 3 OMS Team
3/16 /20 Dear 3 OMS Community—
In observance of recent recommendations and to keep at the forefront of the health and safety of our students, staff, and public health we are cancelling all classes starting March 16th, for a month. We will revisit the recommendations of the Whatcom County Health Department and Governor Inslee in April and give you an update.

In an effort to continue to pay our staff and bring yoga to you at this most critical time, we are working to be able to offer online classes but we do not yet have that technology in place. We hope to offer a couple of classes each day that you can pay a reduced drop-in rate or members would continue to receive unlimited classes. Private sessions may still be an option and we are looking into virtual private sessions. We will keep you posted.

If your class package expires during this time of closure we will honor them when we reopen and extend the expiration.

For our members, if it is economically feasible to keep your membership rolling we would deeply appreciate it. If not, we completely understand and please let us know by email if you would like to suspend or cancel your membership.

Blessings to you all and please take care of yourselves and others when possible!

Amy and the 3 Oms Yoga Team
