An extension of our core values and commitment to community responsibility is our Karma Yoga Program. We believe that yoga is for every one and for every body. We recognize that there may be barriers that prevent all from having access, and have several offerings to help lessen those barriers.
Scholarships
We offer two scholarship opportunities: 1) a spot in each Beginner’s Course, and 2) 10 class packages. Please contact us for availability and application instructions. Individuals from traditionally under served populations are especially encouraged to apply.
Work Trade Opportunities
Have more time than money to offer? We have opportunities for highly motivated, dependable, and reliable yogis available to help with tasks around the studio in exchange for free classes. To be eligible for this opportunity, we ask that applicants
- be dependable and punctual
- are self-motivated and flourish at working independently
- are detail oriented
- are good communicators
- are able to commit to a minimum of 3 months
Our largest ongoing need is for cleaners who are able to commit to a set day and time each week to help with general cleaning tasks. Love getting outside and connecting with our community? We also have opportunities to join our Street Marketing Team, distributing flyers and other materials to spread the word about our awesome offerings. Email us or stop by the front desk for more information on current openings, and for application instructions.
Community Classes
As part of our mentorship program, mentees teach a donation class during their tenure. This allows us to offer a sliding-scale class for those who would like to practice with us at the studio, but might not otherwise be able to financially. Suggested donation of $5-15, no one turned away for lack of funds. **We don’t currently have any community classes scheduled, but check back here for announcements on future offerings!
Karma Outreach
With the donations we collect from our community classes, 100% of that money goes to fund our teachers going out into our larger community to offer free yoga classes in partnership with non-profits or other organizations. The intention is to create access for people interested in yoga that may have socioeconomic, geographic, or other barriers to attending a class at the studio, with the practice of yoga in support of the outside group’s goals and mission.
